One Direction is Taking Over My Life

31 July 2015

Waking up at seven in the morning is nothing less than the worst. However, I got to wake up and go babysit one of my favorite little girls on the planet, so it was completely and utterly worth it. When I got to Ashlee's house this morning we decided that today was going to be an adventure day. First up on the list was breakfast. Now, any babysitter can pour cereal in a bowl or put peanut butter on a piece of burnt toast, but I wanted to do something different. We hopped in the car and headed to Perkins. Seeing as not all of you readers are from the midwest and have never heard of Perkins, let me explain. Perkins is a family restaurant open twenty-four seven that is always willing to cook up some fantastic breakfast food no matter the time of day. So Ashlee settled on a ginormous warm cinnamon roll with a heap of frosting on the top, and I decided on a lemon poppy seed muffin with lemon meringue in the middle.

After a delicious breakfast we headed to my parents house to visit my dog. My pup's name is Oreo. I know, typical pet name, but don't judge me too harshly; I named him when I was ten. He is a poodle and maltese mix and only weighs about fourteen pounds. He is all black but has a white goatee and a white stripe on his belly. To say the least, he is my baby. While at my parents house, we also took advantage of the beautiful weather and jumped on my trampoline.

As we tired of jumping, we came inside and decided to make homemade cookies for our friend Jessica who had just gotten back last night from spending a whole month in Poland. I cannot bake. I have no idea what was going through my mind when I asked Ashlee if she wanted to make cookies for Jessica. So after adding in all the ingredients and popping them into the oven when I smelled something burning, I wasn't exactly surprised to see the cookies had turned into a soupy looking mess on the tray. So we cleaned up that disaster and quick stopped by a local gas station and bought some cookies on the way to Jessica's.

Catching up with Jess was a blast, and it was so great to see her again. Then Ashlee and I stopped at the Bandshell Park and hung out there for a while to play and watch the ducks. Soon it was noon and time for me to get Ashlee home.

After I dropped her off, I called one of my best friends Kelly and met her at the Aquatic Center. Let me just tell you about the Aquatic Center for a second. No one over the age of twelve goes there voluntarily. It is packed with yelling, running and peeing kids. Kelly was there babysitting, but I wanted to spend time with her and I figured I could also work on my tan.

This is when I will explain to you why One Direction has taken over my life. While making the failed homemade cookies we were of course listening to One Direction. What do I listen to in the car? You guessed it; One Direction. As I was scrolling through Instagram this morning, guess what I saw? One Direction had dropped their brand new song Drag Me Down. I literally screamed of excitement. Of course, at only ten in the morning, it was already number one on iTunes. So, now readers, I'd like you to guess what song has been on repeat all day. Come on, it's not very hard. That's right. Drag Me Down by One Direction. I encourage everyone to go check it out, even if you aren't a fan of 1D, you might enjoy it because it sounds a lot different than their last album.

Ok, so I'm going to be late for work if I don't stop this post. The Movie Theater never sleeps and I've got popcorn to serve. Thanks for reading! Now go listen to some One Direction.

Until Tomorrow,

SimplyMe
